Digital Camera Video Is Needed For Professionals And Amateurs
A digital camera video is an electronic gadget designed to acquire and store photographs in a digital format. Unlike the conventional photographs that are stored on photographic films, a digital camera video records the images through a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) or Charge Coupled Device (CCD) sensor. The conventional videos were stored in an analog format on a magnetic tape, whereas the digital videos taken are either stored on a magnetic tape or on an optical disc, but digitally; digitally here means the way it is stored. With the advent of the computer chip, the data recorded (like photographs, video etc.) are stored as discrete numbers in a binary format either on a flash memory card or optical disk.
Modern digital camera video is usually multifunctional and most of the devices are capable of recording sound and video as well as photographs. All these digital devices have a maximum resolution (represented in mega pixels) and represent a fixed number of colors. The number of pixels, usually represented as mega pixels, determines the quality of the picture. If you have a higher resolution, determined by the maximum number of pixels, you will get better pictures. You can simply reduce a higher resolution image to lower resolution in the computer, but you cannot go from lower to higher with good results. The digital camera video manufacturers are doing research in bringing out a camera that can be as clear (here it means resolution) as all their analog counterparts.
To understand digital camera video, you have to realize that resolution in mega pixels is a quantitative measurement, but the circuitry and the lenses of the camera are qualitative. The optical quality of the lens significantly plays a greater role in the resulting picture quality as it has in film cameras for more than a century. Also the size and quality of the CCD or CMOS sensor, fitted inside the camera, in addition to its internal processing capabilities all contribute to the resultant image quality. Before understanding the use of digital camera video, you have to know that a video camera is used for electronic motion picture acquisition, primarily developed for and by the television industry; but is now common in other applications also.
Video cameras are largely used in two categories. The first and foremost is what might be called a live telecast, where the digital camera video feeds real time images directly to a television for immediate observation. In the second category, the digital camera video is used to record the images on to a storage device for archiving or further processing. In addition to live telecast and recorded video, video cameras are used in security, military or tactical, and industrial operations where secret or remote viewing is necessary. The disadvantages of digital camera video are manifold. Some people find video films to have a grainy and less desirable look than still films. A lot of videos have been traditionally shot on film rather than videotape. With the rise of digital video, on the other hand, it has become convenient to emulate the still films using progressive scan and superior techniques.
